What Our 350-Hour Training Integrates

Our 350-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher training integrates yoga philosophy, movement science, nervous system regulation, and inclusive teaching practices. The program combines evidence-informed stress physiology, neurodivergent-affirming teaching, adaptive yoga, and professional ethics to prepare teachers to work safely across diverse communities and real-world settings.

The 350hour trauma informed yoga teacher training is transformative. Mollie and the team at Jala Yoga are dedicated to delivering comprehensive, high quality teaching, whilst remaining compassionate and approachable. They create an environment which encourages both personal and professional growth, ensuring you are supported every step of the way. A Different Standard of Yoga Education

Trauma-informed Yoga Training

Trauma-informed Yoga Teacher Training

Designed with Healthcare, not separate from it

  • This training was built in collaboration with medical, allied health, mental health, and yoga therapy professionals - not just to include trauma-informed principles, but to embody them from start to finish.
  • Learn from mentors in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counselling, Physiotherapy, Exercise Science, Social Work, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, Women’s Health, Occupational Therapy, alongside First Nations perspectives
  • Gain a well-rounded, multidisciplinary view of how yoga integrates into health and healing - in real-world settings, not just studios
Trauma-informed Yoga Training

Evidence-Based & Ethically Grounded

We go far beyond trends:

  • You’ll learn to interpret research, challenge bias, and apply both yoga philosophy and modern science with cultural awareness to all walks of life
  • Our curriculum integrates the latest evidence from neuroscience, physiology, mental health, and trauma studies
  • Ethics isn’t a separate conversation - it’s woven into every module, every interaction, and every decision about how we teach

Trauma-Informed, Neuro-Affirming & Culturally Responsive

This isn’t a training where “trauma-informed” is a single weekend module tacked on at the end. It is the lens through which every aspect of the curriculum is designed and delivered - from how we structure contact sessions to how we assess, how we communicate, and how we hold space.

  • Safety, choice, and agency are embedded throughout
  • Our neuro-affirming framework honours the diversity of how people learn, process, and move
  • We actively engage with First Nations perspectives, anti-oppressive practice, and cultural humility - not as a checkbox, but as ongoing, reflective work
Trauma-informed Yoga Teacher Training

Inclusive, Real-World Teaching from Day One

This is not a one-size-fits-all yoga training. You’ll be mentored in:

  • Adaptive, neuro-affirming teaching for diverse needs and bodies
  • Private yoga, NDIS-compatible programs, specialized yoga programs within community & healthcare settings, while embedding neuro-affirming, trauma- and culturally-responsive practice frameworks
  • Ongoing feedback, tailored support and mentorship to support your personal teaching style
  • Practice teaching in ways that build confidence - even if you’re brand new to teaching yoga. If you’re already a yoga teacher, this is where you refine your skills and add real depth to your classes.
Not sure if this is right for you? That's exactly what the discovery call is for.

A 10–20 minute conversation with Mollie - no pitch, no pressure.
You'll talk about where you are right now, what you're hoping to build, and whether this training is genuinely the right fit. If it's not, Mollie will tell you that too. Most people leave the call clearer than when they arrived, regardless of what they decide.

Our course is for :

  • Health, Mental Health & Allied Health Professionals
You’re a clinician, therapist, or practitioner who’s curious about integrating breath work, mindfulness, movement, or body-based interventions into your professional scope. You want to ensure it’s done ethically, safely, and in a way that complements your existing work with clients or patients, and build a network of mentors and peers doing the same.

  • Experienced Yoga Teachers
You’ve already completed a 200-hour YTT and are seeking something more robust — something that speaks to the reality of teaching diverse humans. You want trauma-informed tools, mental health frameworks, pre/postnatal knowledge, and private teaching skills to grow your offerings with integrity. You want to deepen your teaching, and build confidence in both your teaching skills AND running your own yoga business.

  • Aspiring Yoga Teachers
You're ready to pursue teaching but want a training that’s grounded, inclusive, and prepares you to work beyond the studio — in schools, hospitals, with NDIS participants, or within your own private practice. You care about people and want to make a real impact.

  • Comprehensive Training Seekers
You’re looking for more than sequences and cueing — you want an education that bridges Yoga philosophy, trauma-informed care, neuroscience, and therapeutic frameworks. You want to graduate feeling confident, equipped, and connected to your purpose.

  • Curious & Reflective Learners
You’re the kind of person who asks “why.” Why does Yoga work? Why do we teach it the way we do? You crave a training that honours tradition but isn’t afraid to ask questions — one that invites critical thinking and exploration of self and society.

  • Dedicated Practitioners
You may not plan to teach right away, but you want to dive deeper into your own practice. You’re interested in self-inquiry, lineage, energetic anatomy, and adapting Yoga to different seasons of life — whether for yourself or your community.

  • Personalised Learning Enthusiasts
You value individual attention, clear guidance, and a nurturing environment. Whether you’re neurodivergent, a return-to-study adult, or just someone who thrives in small groups — you’ll be supported every step of the way with tailored mentoring and community connection.

What to expect

Our 350-hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Teacher Training bridges traditional Hatha & Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with modern, evidence-based approaches drawn from Yoga Therapy and Allied Health — including Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Exercise Physiology, Neuro-Occupational Therapy, Women’s Health, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Physiotherapy and more.

This isn’t just a yoga training - it’s a transformational education designed to equip you with the real-world skills, trauma-informed frameworks, and professional confidence needed to work across diverse settings: from private practice and NDIS to schools, hospitals, correctional facilities and community mental health.

You’ll graduate with

  • Trauma-informed practice grounded in neuroscience —
Not "bubble wrap and be gentle."
A grounded understanding of allostatic load, nervous system states, and how trauma lives in the body — and what to do with that knowledge in a class or session.

  • Adaptive and neuro-affirming teaching skills —
How to genuinely adapt your teaching for neurodivergent students, those with sensory processing differences, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, or complex trauma — without making anyone feel singled out or "accommodated."

  • Cultural humility and anti-oppressive practice —
First Nations perspectives, decolonising yoga education, working across CALD communities, and understanding how culture, race, and identity shape how safety is experienced.

  • Ethical integration of yoga in professional settings —
How to refer, when to refer, scope of practice, documentation, working within healthcare teams, and integrating movement and breathing practices into existing clinical or educational roles.

  • Internationally recognised accreditation —
RYT 350 with Yoga Australia and Yoga Alliance International, supporting professional insurance, employment, and continuing education recognition.

  • A professional community that stays with you —
Alumni groups, monthly meditation with Ollie (ordained monk), ongoing CPD offerings, and job opportunities, and a cohort of practitioners you'll genuinely want to stay connected to.

"As an OT looking to up skill as a yoga instructor, particularly in the areas of mental health and disabilities, I am truly grateful to have found Jala Yoga- Mollie and her team. During the 350hr training, they shared a wealth of knowledge on trauma-informed practice and yoga while maintaining respect for Yoga’s cultural roots. Furthermore, I really appreciated the significance of evidence-based and client-centred practice as part of the training.
I also felt supported and safe in learning and practicing Ashtanga yoga, from previously only attending lead classes to now feeling comfortable with Mysore practice. I definitely recommend Jala Yoga and am looking forward to continue to learn and practice with them."

~ Catherine, Occupational Therapist and 2024 Graduate

Why This Training Exists

This training exists because it needed to.

As a long-term yoga teacher and registered counsellor, I saw too many people falling through the cracks - both clients and practitioners.

I saw yoga spaces that wanted to help but didn’t always know how to support people with complex lived experiences. Studios that didn’t know how to create sensory-safe environments for neurodivergent or trauma-impacted students.

At the same time, I saw healthcare professionals doing extraordinary work supporting their clients and patients, often under immense pressure - but with very little training in mindfulness or body-based practices that could support regulation, recovery, and resilience.

350 hour Trauma-informed Yoga Teacher Training Gold Coast

"Having already completed 200hours yoga teacher training and many years at university studying nursing and health sciences, I have high standards. This training has been absolutely next level. Both for me as a professional yoga teacher and health care practitioner, but also as a life long student of yoga, always diving deeper into the practice and teachings and making me reflect on my own life, habits and growth. It is a big commitment, this is not a wishy washy course. The content is deep, thorough and professionally delivered in a way that is accessible to all students. Mollie and Ollie, the facilitators, are kind, compassionate and patient with learners. They focus on empowerment and built up our own capacity to be the best we can be, to start our own yoga businesses and to keep learning so we can be the best teachers and supports for our students in future."
